Bubba Gumps, Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, & the Dixie Stampede

While we were in Sevierville, TN, we did A LOT! We went to dinner at Bubba Gumps in Gatlinburg for dinner and Olivia was being silly at the table. This is just random, but to cute!
We wanted to get out and do a little hiking, well, as much as you can with a 2 year old. Someone told us about the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail so we decided to try it out thinking we might be able to find some short trails. I wish we would have known a little more about it, because we would have brought bathing suits, towels, and water shoes. . . and lunch. . . oh, and Dramamine. This was a one-way, narrow, paved road (the web site says 6 miles long, but by the end, it felt much longer) with stops along the way for hiking. It follows Roaring Fork Creek and there were some great spots for wading. There were several hikes that had TONS of cars parked along the roadway where people were out hiking. We stopped at one of the first spots on the trail, which was a short walk from the parking area. Olivia really wanted to get in the water but she accepted finding rocks and throwing them into the creek. Overall, this was a beautiful drive and I would highly recommend it.

After our drive, we went back for a little rest before the Dixie Stampede! Before the actual show, there is a music show in the "saloon" (no alcoholic beverages though). Olivia came home singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" after hearing it here.

We did not buy a ticket for Olivia, she just sat my lap. We got front row seats and she was mesmerized the whole time. She didn't eat a bite! You can't take pictures during the show, but we did get a quick picture with one of the horses and actors after the show. I'd highly recommend this too! Just don't pay for them to eat! And remember, everyone eats with their hands.
