First day at "school"/day care.
Ava did great at her first week of day care. When we dropped her off, her legs were kicking the whole time. That is the true sign that she is excited about something, even if she isn't smiling. Olivia cried because she had to put bunny in her cubby until nap time, but her new teacher, Ms. Angie, said she could keep it until she was ready to put him up. We had been telling Olivia that she would need to watch out for her sister at school. She has been checking up on her during the day and then reports back to us in the afternoons! It is so cute!![]() |

First taste of birthday cake
We celebrate Mimi and Bart's birthday on August 24. I made tiramisu for our dessert, but I got cupcakes for Bart's actual birthday. Ava got a taste of those.| Happy Birthday Daddy! |

First Baby Food and Real Food
Ava started on baby cereal just after her 6 month appointment. We were still weaning her and transitioning to formula, so I didn't want to start rice cereal took quickly to give her system time to adjust. Unfortunately, it was inevitable that she would have some trouble with the transition. First, she had some gas. Then she got really constipated. Luckily, we got some prune juice in her and it just took a a day or so to get that cleared up. Then she got her first diaper rash once she started having food 2 meals a day. We also switched her formula which I think helped a lot.

7 Month Old Photo Shoot
Ava had a lot of other firsts this past month. First time rolling tummy to back. First time sitting up by herself for a few seconds. First hair cut. Ok, so it was just a trim off the side pieces which had grown longer than the back of her hair. And after having a child who didn't get her first hair cut until she was 3, this is shocking to me! Two of the funny things she has been doing a lot of this past month is giggling and sucking on her toes!

Enjoying the freedom of sitting in the high chair like a big girl!
