Going to the Lodge, the Great Wolf Lodge.
We didn't have a major vacation planned this year, but we wanted to do something with the kids so we planned an overnight trip to the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord. We met Mom, Dad, Lindsey, and Lucas for lunch and checked in early since you can go to the water park from 1pm the day you check in until it closes the day you leave. Our trip started with lunch at Twin Peaks--little did we know that it was like the mountain version of Hooters until we went in. It was a really good restaurant though!

| Notice Olivia's hair. She has a headband on with about 6 bows attached to it. She hasn't gone many placed this summer without hair decorations and jewelry. |
We were lucky to get to check in to our rooms early, just after 1, so we got to unload the car and change in our rooms instead of the dressing room. We checked out several slides to see what everybody could ride. Lucas was about an inch too short to go on the big slides, but that didn't bother either of them.

After staying at the water park until dinner time, we all got cleaned up and had Sir Pizza that Mom and Dad brought. Yum! The lodge has a big clock tower in the lobby and they have a bed time story there every night so we put our pjs on and headed to story time.

| Even though it was late and she was tired, Ava enjoyed story time, too! |

Then we headed back to the room for bed. We were in one of the cabin suites that had bunk beds and a twin in a mini cabin. We didn't let the kids sleep on the top bunk and luckily, they didn't complain! They must have been tired, because they went right to sleep and slept all night long.
The area we spent most of our time at the water park was the huge splash pad area. It had a ton of water spouts, sprayers, tubes, and buckets on the way up to the top where the slides were. There was also a HUGE bucket that filled up and dumped 1000 gallons of water from the very top every few minutes. It was crazy! There was also a wave pool, an outdoor pool, a little kids splash pad pool, and a pool with basketball goals and an obstacle course.

We stayed at the park until about 3 or so and both of the girls crashed on the way home and we all slept really good that night! Next time we go, Olivia and Lucas will both be tall enough to go on the "big slides"! And Ava will be able to enjoy everything a little more.
