Black Saturday, Not to be Mistaken for Black Friday

Black Saturday at Appalachian was the day before Halloween this year. It was also our only trip to Boone this year. For those of you non-Mountaineers, Black Saturday falls on one of big rival games each year, this year, Furman, who we beat, when all the fans are encouraged to wear black. There were also several activities planned for the kids since it was the day before Halloween. My whole family met up in Boone at the Daniel Boone Inn for breakfast.

Then we headed over to campus to hang out for a while before the game. Olivia and Lucas enjoyed the piece of art in the courtyard we were sitting in. It became their race track and hiding spot.

We headed on over toward the stadium stopping by the kids zone to let the kids jump on the bouncy basketball game and then at the Yosef parking lot for the kids to go Trunk or Treating. Lucas was a conductor and Olivia was the perfect Mountaineer fan-complete with Black and Gold tutu! We met up with one of my former students, Kate, a Junior at ASU, who shares a birthday with Olivia. She brought the kids treats and we got a few minutes to hang out with her before heading in to the stadium.

We wished we could have stayed in Boone longer, but it was a fun day. Olivia and Lucas always have fun together! And the Mountaineers won so that makes it a great day!
